Travel specialist embarks on a new adventure

Tunbridge Wells company undergoes major rebrand and change of name

A leading travel specialist for 18 to 30-year-olds based in Tunbridge Wells has undergone a name change and major rebrand, reflecting changing youth travel trends.

Founded in 2011 and based on Mount Pleasant Road, Gap 360 is now Adventure360. The new brand reflects the company’s evolution beyond the traditional gap year market, positioning it to inspire and support a wider audience of young people looking to travel, work and volunteer abroad.

Jane McLellan-Green, Co-Founder and Operations & Sales Director, says: “We are well established as experts in youth travel, with more than 15 years’ experience helping travellers aged 18 to 30 explore the world. But travel trends have evolved. Financial pressures, fewer people taking the traditional university route into employment, and an appetite for more adventurous life experiences well into their 20s and 30s mean the traditional ‘gap year’ has become less common.

“In 2011, bookings for trips lasting a year or more were very common, whereas today, ‘going travelling’ is just as likely to mean taking a longer, more adventurous holiday from work or study. Shorter trips, interspersed with periods of work to replenish funds, are now a much more popular way for young adults to travel, and the most common tour length is around three weeks. Trips are more frequent, with many repeat bookings, and these combined changes led us to the decision to rebrand as Adventure360.”

The transformation includes a new logo, website domain, colour palette, tone of voice and social media handles. The new identity and website were developed in partnership with YoYo Design and Adido Digital, with the complete rebranding journey taking around a year.

James Jeremy, Co-Founder and Technical Director, continues: “Adventure360.com is a new and improved version of the site, retaining the core infrastructure while refreshing every section to enhance the overall user experience. Alongside the redesign, we’ve optimised our content and expanded our expert-led advice to improve discoverability across both traditional search and emerging AI-powered platforms, ensuring our content is well positioned for LLMs (large language models). The new design and colour palette are intended to appeal to our core audience, while modernised iconography aligned with our social channels creates a more consistent brand experience.”

McLellan-Green adds: “The move to Adventure360 reflects the breadth of experiences we offer today. Rebranding enables the company to build on its heritage in gap years and working holidays while broadening its appeal to a new generation of young travellers seeking adventurous holidays and experiences beyond the traditional ‘gap year’ label.”

Adventure360 offers more than 200 trips in over 50 destinations worldwide, including Africa, Asia, Oceania, Europe, Central and South America, the Middle East, Antarctica and North America. Trips range from one week to more than two years, with travel styles including adventure tours, gap years, volunteering and conservation projects, working holidays, and educational and vocational experiences.

Recent booking trends reveal growing demand for accessible short-haul adventures, with Croatia, Morocco and Italy among the fastest-growing destinations. China is also proving increasingly popular, with tour bookings showing strong year-on-year growth over the past six months.
