“Patient care is at the heart of everything we do”

From routine check-ups to complex specialist treatments, ART Dental Care offers a unique model of modern day dentistry under one roof. Founder dentists Dr Rishi Boda and Dr Andrei Dudila tell Eileen Leahy why patient care, teamwork and accessibility are just some of the key factors driving the success of their growing Tunbridge Wells practice…

Located on Calverley Road in the heart of Tunbridge Wells, ART Dental Care is an independent specialist-led practice founded by experienced dentists Dr Rishi Boda and Dr Andrei Dudila.

Opened in November 2025, the clinic combines advanced specialist treatments with a community-focused approach, offering everything from dental implants and root canal therapy to cosmetic and general dentistry under one roof.

Rishi is an implant, restorative and general dentist, while Andrei specialises in implant and restorative dentistry.

The pair first discussed opening their own practice after working together for a number of years.

“We were at the same practice and, when it closed, we found ourselves at a crossroads,” explains Andrei.

“We’d talked about running an independent practice a few years previously and even looked at a few locations, but nothing was quite right.”

When they found themselves having to look for another job in 2024, the idea of creating something together began to gather momentum.

“We were at that stage in our careers where neither of us wanted to work for someone else again,” adds Rishi.

“We’d built a great working relationship and shared very similar ideas about how a dental practice should operate, so we decided to make it happen.”

The ART in ART Dental Care stands for Andrei, Rishi and Team.

“It was one of the first decisions we made, even before finding the premises,” Rishi reveals.

“We wanted a name that reflected who we are and the collaborative spirit behind the practice.”

The ‘Team’ element, he tells me, is particularly important because ART Dental Care has never been about individuals – it’s about creating an environment where everyone works together to deliver the highest standard of care.

I’m chatting with both Rishi and Andrei at their stylish Calverley Road premises.

“When we found this building, instead of leasing it, we asked if we could buy it,” continues Andrei.

Thankfully, the owner agreed and the pair soon found themselves rolling up their sleeves to transform the period property into the type of practice they had always envisioned.

“We measured, designed and built everything ourselves,” adds Rishi. “Suddenly we were project managers and builders, but we really wanted to put our stamp on it.”

Rishi and Andrei then set about developing a business plan, speaking to banks and quickly learning the realities of running a business.

“We’re highly trained in dentistry, but running a business is a completely different skill set. There was a lot to learn, but we spoke to friends within the dental industry who had already opened practices and were kind enough to share their experiences, advice and even examples of their business plans. We used those insights as a starting point and adapted them to fit our own vision,” says Andrei.

They received the keys to the building, which dates back to 1892, in May 2025 and spent the next six months renovating, sourcing and refining every detail before opening the practice in November.

The results are seriously impressive. The double-fronted building boasts a stylish reception area filled with lush greenery and contemporary furnishings, all set against a clean, modern backdrop.

To the right of reception sits the main clinic, equipped with pristine state-of-the-art technology including diagnostic and operatory machines – there’s even a television positioned above the dental chair to help patients relax during treatment.

Off the central corridor are additional treatment rooms. There are four clinics in total, with two currently in operation. A third clinic is due to open this summer, with the fourth scheduled to launch next year.

As you’d expect, there are also dedicated staff facilities and rooms housing specialist equipment and supplies.

Rishi and Andrei tell me that ART Dental Care is built on a philosophy of collaboration, accessibility and patient-centred care.

“That is at the heart of everything we do.”

The clinic specialises in everything from implants, root canal treatments and Invisalign to gum treatments, cosmetic procedures and general dentistry.

Rishi and Andrei go on to explain that although the practice brings together a team of highly qualified specialists under one roof, it retains the personal touch of a community dental practice.

“That’s what we ultimately want to be: a practice that puts people first,” says Rishi.

“After experiencing the corporate side of dentistry, we were determined to do things differently.”

That means creating a practice built around teamwork rather than hierarchy.

“Our collective specialist expertise means we bring not only extensive knowledge but also a thoughtful, considered approach to patient care.”

Currently, ART Dental Care has seven dentists and specialist consultants working alongside Rishi and Andrei, as well as two hygienists, two nurses and two receptionists. The team is expected to grow further once the third clinic opens.

“In many traditional environments, clinicians can end up working quite independently, with complex referral processes and administrative barriers slowing everything down,” Rishi explains.

“At ART Dental Care, we want every clinician to be able to work together for the benefit of the patient. If someone would benefit from the expertise of another specialist, they can be seen quickly and efficiently without unnecessary bureaucracy.

“We want to remove the red tape often associated with larger organisations.”

Decisions are made collaboratively, says Rishi, and everyone has a voice.

The specialists currently visit the practice, on average, twice a month, although that is expected to increase as the business continues to grow.

Many of the clinicians who work with ART Dental Care are long-standing friends and colleagues of the founders.

“Many of the specialists who work with us are people we’ve known and worked alongside previously. We already knew their clinical abilities, their approach to patient care and, importantly, whether they shared our values,” smiles Rishi.

As a result, the practice feels like a genuine team rather than a collection of individuals working independently.

“We’re primarily a specialist-led practice offering advanced treatments that many practices cannot provide, but we also offer comprehensive general dentistry services,” adds Andrei.

Rishi, who also teaches dental students once a week at King’s College London, says the practice’s long-term vision is to become a true community hub where patients can access routine check-ups, preventative care and specialist treatment all in one place.

Further demonstrating their commitment to the local community, the business partners offer NHS staff a 25 per cent discount on treatments, while the children of registered patients receive free dental care until the age of 18.

The pair are also keen to engage with local employers.

“We’re very keen to have meaningful conversations with local businesses so we can create beneficial packages for their employees,” says Rishi.
